Giles Blackburne, Director, China Britain Business Council

Giles Blackburne graduated in Chinese Studies at the Polytechnic of Central London in 1989. He lectured in Chinese Politics & Economics at the University of Glasgow between 1991 and 1994 and was manager at China-Britain Business Council (Scotland) from 1994-2001. Giles designed and delivered a Chinese Studies programme at the University of Abertay Dundee from 2001-2005, before re-joining CBBC, where he now provides strategic and practical advice to Yorkshire companies interested in the Chinese market. He is currently a visiting lecturer at the Universities of Leeds and Sheffield, a Council member of the British Association of Chinese Studies and Co-Chair of the Association for Speakers of Chinese as a Second Language.
